Vimeo has gone in-house to find its new CEO.

The IAC-owned online video specialist announced Thursday that Anjali Sud, GM and SVP of Vimeo’s flagship creator business, has taken the helm.

She takes over that role from interim CEO, Joey Levin, who remains CEO of IAC.  Levin has been in that interim role since June of last year, when Vimeo’s previous CEO, Kerry Trainor, left the company.

Sud joined Vimeo in 2014 to lead marketing, and was promoted to the GM/SVP role in 2016. Sud previously  held e-commerce and media roles at Amazon and Time Warner.

She now leads a company with 800,000 subscribers to Vimeo’s set of online video tools for creators and a platform with more than 250 million monthly viewers. Though Vimeo has recently added new capabilities such as 360-degree video and has support for live video on its roadmap, the company confirmed last month that it had dropped a plan to build a subscription video service as it would instead refocus on its creator community.

“Vimeo is entering an exciting chapter with a renewed focus on the core value that makes our brand special and beloved around the globe – being the #1 platform to empower video creators,” Sud said in a statement. “With a world-class brand, exceptional product and thriving community, we are uniquely positioned to define new standards of storytelling and lead the $10 billion video creator market.”

"Having spent the last year inside the business working closely with Anjali and the team at Vimeo, Anjali has stood out as a leader: she’s creative, confident, aggressive, and always thinks of our users first,” Levin added. "She’s a natural leader, and I expect she will build a very big business at Vimeo."
