Vivid TV Gains European Linear Berths via M7 Group

Vivid Entertainment has reached an agreement with M7 Group to help launch its service in Europe.

The deal, financial terms of which were not disclosed, calls for Vivid TV Europe, a 24/7 adult service, to launch on Nov. 1 from the M7 Platform at ASTRA 19.2 degrees East.

Vivid TV Europe will be carried on M7 Group's various European pay-TV platforms: CanalDigitaal, Online.nl, TV Vlaanderen and TéléSAT in the Benelux, Austriasat in Austria and Skylink in Czech Republic and Slovakia.  In addition, the M7 satellite feed will help Vivid TV erect its platform with other European providers, as the M7 Platform Services will provide Vivid TV Europe with a turn-key solution allowing operators to receive and redistribute the channel to its subscribers.

Builing on its video-on-demand presence on The Continent, Vivid's European rollout follows the 2013 introduction of Vivid TV in North and South America, which executives at the company say now extends to over 70 million homes. The porn purveyor says Vivid TV Europe will present content specifically designed for the European market.

“We are very pleased with the agreement with M7 Group, allowing us to rapidly build-up our household reach in Europe via direct-to-home, IPTV and cable distribution," said Vivid Entertainment co-chairman Bill Asher.  "M7 Group’s European business focus combined with excellent, cost-efficient technical distribution solutions they provide, makes M7 Group a natural partner for our European roll-out.”

Noted M7 Group CEO Marco Visser: “We are very honored to be selected as Vivid Entertainment’s European launch partner and we look forward to a fruitful cooperation.  This agreement reconfirms our capability for providing content providers with professional, end-to-end distribution solutions, in addition to offering an extensive consumer household reach.”
