‘The Walking Dead’ Devours Social Media

Fans of AMC’s The Walking Dead last night took to social media to make Sunday's episode of the zombie-themed series the most tweeted TV show of the day.

The Walking Dead drew 306,000 tweets reaching 3.7 million viewers to easily best the 12,000 tweets generated by second place finisher, E!’s Keeping Up the Kardashians, according to Nielsen’s daily Twitter TV ratings.

Talking Dead,The Walking Dead’s live post-show talker, generated 35,000 tweets reaching 481,000 unique Twitter users to finished fourth behind ABC’s Once Upon A Time. Showtime’s Homeland drama series rounded out the top five shows for the night.

Fox’s World Series Game 5 telecast in which the Kansas City Royals defeated the New York Mets was the most tweeted sports event of the day, generating 1.2 million tweets viewed by nearly 7 million unique Twitter users, according to Nielsen.
