WB Cable Gets Nine Films

Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution has acquired all U.S. television rights for an array of nine theatricals from Intermedia Film Distribution, a subsidiary of Munich- and Los Angeles-based Internationalmedia AG.

The agreement, terms of which were not disclosed, gives the supplier of programming to the pay TV and basic-cable markets the rights to films such as surfer/bank-robber classic Point Break (Keanu Reeves, Patrick Swayze), action-adventure movie Timecop (Jean-Claude Van Damme), drama Unlawful Entry (Kurt Russell) and crime thriller The Getaway (Alec Baldwin).

The other titles acquired by Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution: comedy The Super (Joe Pesci), thriller Judgment Night (Emilio Estevez), romantic comedy Used People (Shirley MacLaine), comedy/horror Dr. Giggles (Larry Drake) and drama Back in the USSR (Frank Whaley).
