WisconsinEye Debut Delayed11/30/2004 9:10 AM Eastern
The debut of Wisconsin’s C-SPAN-style state-government network has been pushed back from its original January date, AP reported.
WisconsinEye Public Affairs Network president Jeff Roberts told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel the network could be operating within five months of reaching a broadcast agreement with the state.
However, state Rep. John Townsend (R-Fond du Lac) told the newspaper an agreement will probably not be reached by year-end, which would move it to the back burner next year as the legislature contends with a $1.6 billion deficit and pushes a jobs agenda touted by Republican leaders.
WisconsinEye plans gavel-to-gavel coverage of the state’s legislative, executive and judicial branches.
