YES Network to Air Special Edition of 'Yankees Hot Stove' Following Club's Tanaka Signing

With the New York Yankees securing the rights of Japanese right-hander Masahiro Tanaka, YES Network will air a special edition of Yankees Hot Stove tonight.

The show, hosted by Bob Lorenz and featuring David Waldstein and Tyler Kepner, the Yankees beat reporter and national baseball writer for The New York Times, respectively, and the New York Post’s Ken Davidoff, will air on the regional sports network from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Tanaka was 24-0 with a 1.27 ERA and led the Rakuten Golden Eagles to the Japanese World Series crown. The Yankees will pay Tanaka $155 million over seven years, and his former club a $20 million posting fee.

The bidding for Tanaka – the Chicago Cubs and White Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, Houston Astros and Arizona Diamondbacks all made offers -- put the free-agent activity for MLB starters, Matt Garza, Ubaldo Jiminez, Ervin Santana and Bronson Arroyo, on hold.
