YipTV Joins ‘Binge On’ Mix

YipTV said it has joined Binge On, T-Mobile’s controversial optional service that delivers mobile video in 480p resolution and  zero-rates the streams of its growing list of OTT partners.

YipTV is a no-contract OTT-TV offering launched last May that’s focused on Spanish-language video and features plans from more than 100 international and domestic live TV channels.

In addition to smartphones, YipTV supports several other streaming platforms, including the Google Chromecast, Web browsers and Apple TV boxes.

“T-Mobile is aligning itself nicely with OTT broadband services and mobile cable operators like us as a result of its new, very flexible approach to data and mobile usage,” said Mike Tribolet, co-founder and CEO of YipTV, in a statement.

YipTV joins a growing list of Binge On partners, including YouTube, Hulu, Netflix, Starz, HBO, Showtime, Vudu, Sling TV, A&E, Lifetime, History, PlayStation Vue, Tennis Channel Anywhere, FuboTV, Kidoodle TV, CuriosityStream, Univision Now and WWE Network, among others.

The FCC is investigating new zero-rated services in relation to the commission’s new open Internet rules.
