DirecTV, Dish Offer Freeviews of Fox's 'Multimatch 90'

Taking a page from the other  football’s playbook, Fox Sports will kick off Multimatch 90, a whip-around show for the upcoming UEFA Champions League’s group stage play.

The scoring/highlights channel will bow on Sept. 16 at 2:30 p.m. (ET) on Fox Soccer Plus as well as Fox Soccer 2Go, via live and via on-demand streaming on the  app and website.  Every UEFA Champions League game is available across the Fox Sports networks and digital platforms, with match day 1 (Sept. 16-17), match day 2 (Sept. 30-Oct. 1), match day 3 (Oct. 21-22), match day 4 (Nov. 4-5), match day 5 (Nov. 25-26) and match day 6 (Dec. 9-10).

The show will originate from the Fox Network Center in Los Angeles and jump from game to game. Whip-around coverage keeps the viewer up-to-the-minute with the latest results and highlights either live or moments after they occur. As such, Multimatch 90 is akin to DirecTV's Red Zone and NFL Red Zone scoring platforms that chronicle top NFL action on Sunday afternoons.

Fox Soccer Plus, which carries a monthly retail of $14.99, will offer a free preview of the channel on most outlets, including DirecTV, Verizon FiOS and AT&T U-verse, from Oct. 18 to 26, coinciding with match day 3 action. Dish will run a preview from Oct. 15 to 29.

Multimatch 90 will also be available on the Fox Soccer 2Go website, and app via Apple and Android devices, with a free seven-day trial that coincides with the first set of matches, on Sept. 16 and 17. Fox Soccer 2Go costs $19.99 per month.

“One of the great, unique aspects of UEFA Champions League match days is the simultaneous action taking place all over Europe, and we’re excited to offer fans Multimatch 90,” said Fox Soccer executive producer Jonty Whitehead.  “For the first time fans have a single destination where they can see it all, virtually as it happens.”
