NCTA Seeks Proposals For CIO.IT Cable Show Track

The National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) has issued a Call for Presentation Proposals for the annual CIO.IT track for chief information officers and information technology execs at The Cable Show 2014, set for April 29-May 1 in Los Angeles.

Now in its fifth year, the CIO.IT track, organized by NCTA and CableLabs, will feature IT-focused panel discussions, networking opportunities and the CIO.IT|Competition  2014 presentations.

For this year’s event, NCTA and CableLabs are seeking presentation proposals in the areas of improving the customer experience via big data and predictive analytics, the delivery of online video, customer mobility and cloud services/service oriented architecture.

NCTA and CableLabs have set a proposal deadline of 11.59 p.m. ET on Friday, Feb. 21. Limited to 500 words, proposals may only be submitted online.

Proposals will be evaluated by a representative panel of prominent cable CIOs, the NCTA said, noting that those that are awarded a presentation slot will get 10-15 minutes opportunity to present on their topics in a competitive format during panel presentations for CIO.IT track attendees. Cable industry CIOs and IT execs will comprise a board of reactors, pose questions of the presenters, provide feedback, and choose their favorite presentations, the NCTA added.
