Bright House Rebrands Unit Focused On Mid-To-Large-Sized Businesses

The business services opportunity ahead for Bright House Networks is so big that its fiber-focused commercial unit focused on mid- and large-sized customers unit now has its own brand – Bright House Networks Enterprise Solutions.

The new brand identity, is similar in some ways to how Cablevision Systems applies a separate brand -- Lightpath -- to its big business services arm. In addition to a new brand,  Bright House Networks Enterprise Solutions also carries with it a new tagline: “We’re Wired Differently.”

On that end, the MSO, which has been using EPON technology to serve some businesses (and will soon tap it for a targeted new residential services build out in central Florida), says it now owns and operates a 14,000-mile all-fiber network and backs it up with real-time guaranteed service levels. In 2012, dove more deeply into cloud-based business services via its acquisition of Tampa-based “communications-as-a-service” provider Telovations.

Bright House Networks Enterprise Solutions said the goal under the new banner is to design and deliver customized, scalable solutions for businesses, including hosted voice, dedicated Internet offerings, managed WiFi, and Metro Ethernet services.

Bright House is breaking out the new brand as business services continue to serve as a growth engine for the cable industry. The privately held MSO does not disclose financial figures but U.S. cable providers generated about $8.5 billion in commercial-services revenue last year, up from about $7 billion in 2012, and are on pace to reach $10 billion in 2014, according to Heavy Reading’s latest forecast.
