Charley Trackers Watched Fox News

Fox News Channel was crowing Tuesday about how many people watched its Hurricane Charley coverage.

Fox News said that on Friday, Aug. 13, it averaged 1.012 million total-day viewers, compared with 642,000 for rival Cable News Network.

On Saturday, Fox News (1.064 million total-day viewers) beat CNN (942,000) and The Weather Channel (844,000), the network added.

Fox News’ and TWC’s coverage of the hurricane spiked from 10 a.m.-10:15 a.m. Saturday, Fox News with 2.177 million viewers and TWC with 2.097 million, according to a Fox News analysis of Nielsen Media Research data.
