Good Start for Sex on TBS

The premiere of TBS’ tamer Sex and the City took off with some hot ratings Tuesday night.

TBS averaged a 3.6 household rating from 10 p.m.-10:36 p.m. and 4 million viewers June 15 with its first installment of the Home Box Office comedy. The subsequent installment pulled a 3.2 rating and 3.43 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research data.

TBS officials said the earlier episode set a basic-cable record for an off-network series in delivering adults 18-49 (2.32 million of those viewers), women 18-49 (1.64 million) and women 25-54 (1.48 million). The later installment attracted a cable record 887,000 female watchers between the ages of 18-34.
