The debut of Steven Seagal new series generated a record number of viewers and demo delivery for an A&E original series.
Steven Seagal Lawman, which centers on the film star and martial experts in his life as a law enforcement officer in New Orleans, scored 3.4 million watchers for its debut episode at 10 p.m. on Dec. 2, according to Nielsen data, with the second installment immediately following at 10:30 p.m. drawing 3.6 million watchers.
For the two Lawman episodes, A&E delivered some 2.0 million persons 18 to 49, as well as adults 25 to 54, resulting in the most-watched original series launch in the network's history among all key demos, according to officials at the service.
Back-to-back episodes will air weekly at 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
Lawman surpassed Hoarders as the top original series season premiere in A&E history, jumping past the Nov. 30 sophomore-campaign starter, which averaged 3.2 million viewers, including 1.9 million persons 18 and 49 and 25 and 54.
