Sie, Cable Center Launch CEMMP Alumni Group

8/19/2004 8:56 AM Eastern

The Cable Center's Chinese Executive Media Management Program is getting an alumni association thanks in part to Starz Encore Group LLC founder and chairman John Sie.

Sie said Thursday that he will provide $10,000 per year in seed and operating money to create the association after the graduation ceremony for the fourth annual CEMMP class.

The CEMMP is a six-week program, funded by contributions from the Anna and John J. Sie Foundation and offered annually at The Cable Center.

It is designed to provide top Chinese media executives with a thorough understanding of international business standards, management skills and media know-how that can be applied to the ongoing development of the cable and telecommunications sectors in China.

Class of 2004 fellow Jing Chunhan, deputy director of the liaison department at China Central Television, has agreed to lead the creation and management of the association.
