Ultimate Finale Brings Spike Ultimate Ratings

Spike TV attracted 2.6 million viewers to the live finale of The Ultimate Fighter Saturday night.

The two-and-a-half hour installment of the reality show earned a 1.9 Nielsen Media Research household rating from 9 p.m.-11:30 p.m. (EST/PST), Spike said.

The network claimed that The Ultimate Fighter was the most-watched show among men 18-34 throughout all of television, including the broadcast networks, earning a 3.3 rating and 848,000 viewers in that demographic.

“These record-breaking numbers illustrate that UFC [Ultimate Fighting Championship] and the sport of mixed-martial-arts fighting is on the rise," Spike TV president Doug Herzog said in a prepared statement. "It is also a true testament to the incredible dedicated and fearless athletes on The Ultimate Fighter."
