WGN Is a Ratings Star

Superstation WGN’s ratings went into hyperspace Sunday.

The network’s airings of Star Wars at 12:30 p.m. EST and Spaceballs at 3 p.m. boosted its households ratings 74% versus normal first-quarter Sunday-afternoon numbers.

According to Nielsen Media Research figures, Star Wars was seen in 780,000 homes and by 660,000 persons 18-49, placing it among WGN’s top 15 films of the past two years in that demo. Spaceballs was seen in 502,000 homes and by 442,000 persons 18-49.
