Audible Magic Calls TMS For TV App Syncing Service

Tribune Media Services Entertainment Products struck a deal with Audible Magic, which will use TMS metadata in its automated content recognition service for identifying live TV content.

Audible Magic's Live TViD service identifies television programming using audio signals and synchronizes mobile devices with live TV in real-time with TMS metadata. The ACR technology is used by consumer-facing apps designed to serve as "second-screen" companions for TV watchers that enable social TV features and interactive advertising.

Other TMS metadata clients include Comcast, Time Warner Cable, DirecTV, Dish Network, Microsoft, Google, TiVo and Amazon's IMDb.

Tribune Media Services Entertainment Products was formed last June, when Chicago-based Tribune Co. split TMS into two business units: the Entertainment Products division and a News & Features content-syndication division, which was combined with Tribune Publishing's other content operations.
