AMC's 'Turn: Washington Spies' Starts 2nd Season

AMC has started production for the second season of TURN: Washington’s Spies, filmed at historic locations in Williamsburg, including Colonial Williamsburg’s Historic Area and the campus of the College of William & Mary.

The Revolutionary War drama is the second major production to be filmed in Colonial Williamsburg.

“The authenticity that Virginia brings to the story we’re telling in ‘TURN: Washington’s Spies’ has been an enormous part of the series,” said executive producer Barry Josephson. “We’re thrilled to be back for season two and honored that Colonial Williamsburg and the College of William & Mary agreed to allow us access to these amazingly beautiful and magnificently preserved historical buildings.”

With an average of 10 million viewers in the first season, the second season will continue with 10 episodes in the spring. Jaimie Bell stars as a farmer living in British-occupied Long Island during the Revolutionary War.

As Abraham Woodhull, Bell joins his childhood friends to start the Culper Ring, ultimately fighting to help George Washington turn the war in favor of the rebels.

The executive producers of the AMC production are Craig Silverstein and Barry Josephson from Josephson Entertainment.

The series is based on the book, Washington’s Spies by Alexander Rose, who also works on the writing staff for the second season.
