Sprout Hires Agency To Seek Consumer Product Deals

The Sprout preschool network said it has hired integrated family entertainment company Big Tent Entertainment as its exclusive U.S. licensing agency of record, representing the programmer to develop a fully-integrated Sprout presence at retail and create an umbrella consumer products program for kids ages 2-5 under the Sprout brand name.

In addition, Big Tent also will help introduce products based on the network’s growing roster of original programs including new new series The Chica Show and bedtime block The Good Night Show.

Big Tent Entertainment is the North American agency of record for three Discovery Communications brands: Discovery Kids, TLC and Science, the companies said in a release. Sprout is a joint venture of NBCUniversal, PBS and Apax Funds.
