Dish, Comcast Reach SportsNet Pact

Dish Network said Saturday that it had reached a multiyear deal for carriage of Comcast SportsNet Bay Area, California, Chicago and Mid-Atlantic. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Dish had been in negotiations for the RSNs for weeks – its original carriage agreement was scheduled to expire on Dec. 2 –and had been given several extensions as talks continued.

The latest deal avoided any black out of the channels, which carry NBA games, including coverage of the Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards (pictured)  NHL contests, featuring the San Jose Sharks and Washington Capitals, and other sports action.

Comcast SportsNet New England, the regional home to the NBA's Boston Celtics, remains dark to Dish subscribers. The parties disconnected on August 6.

Dish faces the expiration of its contract with Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network tonight at 11:59 p.m. (ET).
