GladesThe Glades, which stars Matt Passmore as a quirky detective fighting crime in the Florida Everglades, topped the Jan. 15, 2001 series debut of crime drama 100 Centre Street, according to network officials.

The series also delivered a record 1.4 million viewers in A&E's key 25-54 demographic, as well as 1.2 million viewers in the 18-49 demo. Overall including an encore airing, The Glades was watched by a total of 5.1 million viewers during the series' premiere night. "We are very encouraged by the response that The Glades has received from the press and our viewers," said Bob DeBitetto, President & General Manager of A&E and BIO Channel in a statement. "The fact that the series was able to break through in a crowded summer landscape against heavy competition is a testament to the quality of the show and the incredible talent and performance of the show's lead Matt Passmore."
