Diversity Organization In Active Search For New CEO 8/02/2013 9:14 AM Eastern

The National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) has tapped former MTV Networks executive Alicin Williamson to provide interim executive leadership for the association.

Williamson, a former NAMIC Board of Director chairman, will “facilitate transitional management services” until a successor is named to replace former NAMIC president and CEO Nicol Turner-Lee, who resigned last month.

“As we move toward Diversity Week, the Annual NAMIC Conference, the start of ELDP class thirteen and other upcoming initiatives, we are fortunate to have a proven executive and diversity champion of Alicin’s caliber to provide transitional leadership for the association,” said Michael Armstrong, NAMIC board chairman in a statement.

Williamson is currently a principal at strategy company The Raben Group. Prior to joining The Raben Group in 2012, Williamson was senior vice president of public affairs and corporate responsibility for MTV Networks.

“Alicin’s extensive knowledge of NAMIC’s mission and history, and her expert consultation combined with the strategic counsel that she brings as a principal of The Raben Group will be invaluable as the board works diligently to ensure that his transition is seamless for all stakeholders,” added Armstrong.
