Convergys Bills for TWC East Carolina

Convergys Corp. last week said it landed a deal to supply Time Warner Cable's Eastern Carolina division with its Integrated Communications Operations Management System (ICOMS) billing-software platform.

Convergys said it now supports 20 of Time Warner's 39 divisions.

The ICOMS platform allows TWC to offer and bill for advanced video, voice and data services, including Internet-protocol telephony.

"In reviewing our options for a new billing system, we determined Convergys was the clear choice to address current business needs and help us prepare for future growth," Bobby Kendrick, vice president of finance at TWC's eastern Carolina division, said in a statement. "We were impressed by the flexibility of its ICOMS product to support the rollout of new services such as video-on-demand and voice-over-IP."

ICOMS is a scalable billing system that supports millions of accounts from one single database. It offers MSOs the ability to institute user-defined pricing and discounting schemes, and provides for local number portability support for telephony.

The ICOMS Web Self-Care product allows customers to account for self-service options through the Internet, thereby reducing the number of calls into customer-service centers.
