New York — FX’s Emmy-winning
drama Damages could move
to DirecTV’s The 101 channel for a
potential fourth season, sources
close to the network confirm.

Damages co-producers FX and
Sony Pictures Television are talking
to the satellite service about possibly
picking up the legal drama, starring
Glenn
Close, after
the end of
the show’s
third season
on FX later
this month.
The series
has struggled
from a
ratings perspective
in
its current
(third) season,
averaging
1.4
million total
viewers and 477,000 viewers in
the key 18-49 demographic — well
below the 2 million total viewers
and 900,000 18-49 viewers the show
averaged in season one.

An FX spokesman would only say
that the network has yet to make a
decision about a fourth season. DirecTV
officials would not comment.

FX made its upfront pitch to advertisers
last week in New York,
touting overall ratings growth in
the 18-49 audience and a hefty lineup
of 11 new scripted series and
a multibillion-dollar movie lineup
slated for 2010-11.

New shows include Louis, a halfhour
sitcom based on the life of
comedian Louis C.K.; Terriers, a
one-hour comedy from Th e Shield
producer Shawn Ryan; and the recently
launched Justified.

FX’s theatrical slate over the
next year is filled with big names:
Avatar, Transformers: Revenge of
the Fallen
, the Twilight franchise,
J.J. Abrams’s Star Trek and X-Men
Origins: Wolverine
.
