NBA TV Gets Real with Brooklyn NetsClub's First Season in Borough is Subject of The Association's Fourth Campaign 9/19/2012 1:39 PM Eastern
As the Brooklyn Nets tip off their inaugural season, NBA TV will be on hand throughout the campaign.
The pro basketball league’s network will put the spotlight on Olympic gold medalist Deron Williams, Joe Johnson and company on the fourth season of reality series The Association, as the Nets cross the Hudson River after 35 years of playing in New Jersey.
Starting Oct. 16 at 10 p.m. (ET), the cross-platform series includes episodes on NBA TV and original webisodes on NBA.com.
"The Association is part of NBA TV's commitment to deliver original programming, which provides fans with authentic access to all aspects of the game," said Christina Miller, senior vice president and general manager, NBA Digital, in announcing the show."We're thrilled to have the Nets involved this year, during an historic period for the franchise, and look forward to covering them through the journey of their inaugural season in Brooklyn."
Other similar sports fare -- HBO’s Hard Knocks and its look at NFL training camps; its 24/7 series for boxing and the lead-up to the NHL’s Winter Classic; and Showtime’s take on Major League Baseball via The Franchise -- only imbed with the clubs or fighters for a relatively short time. However, The Association: Brooklyn Nets will go behind-the-scenes, providing access to the players and coaches in the locker room, on road trips, and off the court throughout the 2012-13 season. The series will incorporate Brooklyn as a central character with special features about the city and its history and fans, featuring interviews with legendary Dodgers, as well as various celebrities from the borough.
The Association has featured the Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets in recent seasons.
