DirecTV Inc. accused former football star O.J. Simpson of using illegal electronic devices to pirate its signals, AP reported.
In a lawsuit filed last Wednesday in Federal Court in Miami, the direct-broadcast satellite provider said it is seeking $20,000 for the use of the equipment and attorneys' fees.
Federal agents removed satellite-television equipment from Simpson's house in the Miami neighborhood of Kendall during a search Dec. 4, 2001, AP said.
DirecTV alleged in the lawsuit that the devices were two pirate-access devices known as "bootloaders," and that they were being used for the unauthorized decryption of its signals.
