EchoStar Launches Three More Local-Channel Markets

EchoStar Communications Corp.’s Dish Network Thursday began offering local channels via satellite in three more areas, bringing its total number of markets where it offers local-channel service to 131.

The areas added by Dish Thursday are Quincy, Ill.; Albany, Ga.; and Monroe, La./El Dorado, Ark.

Quincy-area Dish customers in 15 counties can now receive CBS channel 7 (KHQA), Fox channel 18 (XGEM), NBC channel 10 (WGEM) and PBS channel 22 (WMEC).

Albany-area Dish customers in 19 counties are getting NBC channel 10 (WALB), Fox channel 31 (WFXL) and PBS channel 14 (WABW). Eligible customers will also be able to receive, where available, Atlanta's ABC channel 2 (WSB) and CBS channel 46 (WGCL).

And Monroe-El Dorado-area Dish customers in 17 counties can now receive ABC channel 11 (KAQY), CBS channel8 (KNOE), Fox channel 14 (KARD), NBC channel 10 (KARD), UPN channel 43 (KEJB) and PBS channel 13 (KLTM).
