Arris’ Numbers Climb

No wonder Arris released preliminary financial reports for the first quarter of 2006: Revenue climbed 53%, from $135.9 million to $208.3 million, enough to boost net income from $3.4 million last year to $20.7 million this year.

The company said MSO cable-telephony rollouts helped to boost revenue. The division that produces embedded multimedia-terminal adapters generated $123 million in revenue in the quarter, up 39% from fourth-quarter 2005’s $88.4 million. “E-MTA revenues and units reached new record levels in the first quarter, exceeding the previous levels of the third quarter of 2005,” Arris said.

Executive vice president and chief financial officer David Potts estimated that the company would generate $210 million-$220 million in revenue in the second quarter.
