AT&T Digital Life Tacks On Seven Markets

AT&T said Digital Life, its home security and automation service, is now offered in 75 markets following launches today in seven additional cities and towns.

Joining that list are: Corpus Christi, Texas; Fayetteville, Ark.; Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; Youngstown, Ohio; Charleston, S.C.; Topeka, Kan.; and Stockton, Calif.

As part of the one-year anniversary of the launch of AT&T Digital Life, the telco is waiving the standard equipment and installation fees ($249) to new customers who sign up for its Digital Life Smart Security package.

AT&T is also offering 50% off the standard equipment cost when existing Smart Security customers add various automation packages.

AT&T, like other service providers, is entering a fragmented home security and automation market led by ADT. Several cable operators, including Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications and Mediacom Communications, have also rolled out competing products.
