Bravo Drives Digital Into ‘The Singles Project’

Bravo has launched an online component for 'The Singles Project' that will serve as a 24/7 digital complement to the channel’s new “real-time dating docu-series,” and include elements that, the network claims, will allow fans to play a role in the show’s outcome.

The series, premiering Tuesday, Aug. 12 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, follows a group of young New York singles as they search for love. The digital, online component will give viewers the ability to engage with the cast and possibly affect how scenarios play out on the show, plus bios of those cast members and behind-the-scenes details and facts about the series.

Broken down further, the online “hub” associated with the show will feature three primary “pillars” – Highlights, which boils down what’s hot that week or trending on that day; The Singles, which provides access to individual cast-member pages and a way for viewers to interact with them; and Connect, a page that will support live chats and a general after-show destination for viewers.

Bravo said it will try to keep the buzz going on the social networking end, including Q&As on Twitter the day after each episode. Viewers can also upload a “15 Second Flirt” video to catch the attention of a cast member and parlay that into an appearance on the show.

“We wanted to create a completely unique digital experience for ‘The Singles Project,’” said Lisa Hsia, EVP of digital, Bravo & Oxygen Media, in a statement. “Bravo has an extremely engaged and socially savvy audience that wants their voice to be heard, which made this show a great fit for the network. We are breaking the fourth wall on this one – fans can impact cast members and what’s happening on air in a way that hasn’t been done before. The possibilities are endless.”
