C-COR.net Acquires Alopa Networks

C-COR.net Corp. said Tuesday that it has reached an agreement to acquire all of the assets of Alopa Networks Inc. for about $15 million in cash and the assumption of certain liabilities.

C.COR.net is a vendor of broadband-transport products, software systems and technical services, while Alopa focuses on the design, development and deployment of infrastructure-software solutions for end-to-end activation, management and assurance of digital services over cable networks.

Once the transaction is completed -- expected during the fourth quarter -- Alopa will become part of C-COR.net's broadband-management-solutions division.

“With a strategic focus on the digital networks of the future, we believe that the powerful combination of Alopa's subscriber-management component with our own network service and mobile-work-force applications will find strong acceptance among our customers and position C-COR as a global leader in OSS [operational-support systems] broadband solutions,” C.COR.net chairman and CEO David Woodle said in a prepared statement.
