Zodiac Interactive will show off a TiVo-like interactive movie guide at the Cable Show '09 this week, running on a digital cable set-top box, designed to show off the capabilities of CableLabs's tru2way platform.

Zodiac Interactive Movie GuideThe demo of the vendor's Interactive Television 2.0 Movie Guide will include movie-data feeds from Macrovision Solutions to display movie information that cross-references movies, cast members, genres and other information. However, as demonstrated, the guide will not link to a cable video-on-demand service or grid listings.

The guide will run on tru2way-based set-tops from Advanced Digital Broadcast. It was built on top of Zodiac's PowerUp framework software for tru2way, which provides application programming interfaces for tru2way components.

Zodiac's Movie Guide will be demonstrated in the CableNET exhibit, which is co-sponsored by CableLabs and the National Cable & Telecommunications Association, as well as in each of the vendors' booths.
