CableLabs Adds Certified Gear

Cable Television Laboratories Inc. announced the latest certifications of equipment for the PacketCable, Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification 2.0 and CableHome 1.1 specifications.

Under the PacketCable umbrella, CableLabs approved Arris Group Inc. for its embedded multimedia-terminal adapter, Nortel Networks Corp. for its media-gateway controller and Siemens AG for its call-management server.

CableLabs certified eight DOCSIS 2.0 cable-modem vendors and recertified two others in certification wave 28. Ambit Microsystems Corp., Askey Computer Corp., CastleNet Technology Inc., Shenzhen Coship Electronics Co. Ltd., Thomson Consumer Electronics and Motorola Inc. (three modems) were certified for DOCSIS 2.0, while modems from CastleNet and Motorola were recertified.

Two Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. modems and one modem from Electroline Equipment Inc. were recertified in the DOCSIS 1.1 category, while Thomson was certified in a DOCSIS 1.0 category.

Cisco Systems Inc.’s Linksys won certification in CableHome 1.1, while Motorola received certification in CableHome 1.0.
