CableLabs, TI to Help Steer UPnP Forum

Cable Television Laboratories Inc. and Texas Instruments Inc. became the newest members of the UPnP Forum Steering Committee Thursday.

The UPnP Forum is an industry initiative with more than 690 members working together to develop standards to enable simple and robust connectivity among stand-alone devices and PCs from many different vendors.

UPnP device and service standards have been defined and published for Internet gateways/routers, audio-video media devices, printers, scanners, climate control, lighting and wireless local-area-network access points.
