CEA Studies Consumer-Electronics Buying Habits

According to the Consumer Electronics Association’s Ninth Annual Household and Teen CE Ownership and Market Potential Study, the average U.S. household owns 25 consumer-electronics products and the average adult spends $1,200 annually on them.

The study also found that the top five growth sectors were digital-video recorders, network routers or hubs, MP3 players, cable modems and digital cameras.

The trade group said DVR ownership was up 25% compared with 2006 and cable-modem ownership gained 6%.
