Conexant Systems announced that Daniel Artusi, previously CEO of power-supply manufacturer ColdWatt, will join the company as president and CEO.

Artusi, 52, will start July 9 and will also join Conexant’s board. He takes over for Dwight Decker, 57, who in March announced plans to retire. Decker will continue to serve as the Newport Beach, Calif.-based company’s chairman.

Prior to joining privately held ColdWatt in May 2005, Artusi headed Silicon Laboratories, a manufacturer of mixed-signal integrated circuits. He also worked in Motorola's semiconductor-products division. He studied electrical engineering at the Instituto Tecnologico de Buenos Aires in Argentina.
