Corinex, Terayon Team Up

Corinex Communications Corp. and Terayon Communication Systems Inc. announced a strategic business partnership Wednesday.

The two companies will team up to develop and market a new line of products integrating HomePlug networking and 200-megabit-per-second power-line technologies with Terayon's residential gateways, which are compliant with CableHome 1.1.

Corinex and Terayon said the new gateways will offer a single-box solution for distributing video, voice and data signals throughout an entire premise.

“Corinex's leading networking technology is a natural fit with our gateway products,” Terayon vice president and general manger of home-access solutions Joseph Benigno said in a prepared statement.

“The integrated CableHome and power-line gateways will enhance cable operators' ability to easily offer new services such as VoIP [voice over Internet protocol] and IP-video distribution, as well as extending broadband service to every room in the home or office,” he added.
