Entropic Head Of Sales Bradford Quits

Bill Bradford, senior vice president of worldwide sales for Entropic Communications, resigned effective Jan. 3 "to pursue other interests," the home-networking chip company disclosed Thursday.

While Entropic searches for a successor for Bradford, the senior sales staff will report directly to president and CEO Patrick Henry, the company said in an 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

An Entropic spokesman said Bradford's departure was unrelated to the company's financial performance.

Bradford joined Entropic in 2009. Previously he held various executive positions at Freescale Semiconductor, including senior vice president of global sales, and prior to that served as head of sales and marketing for ON Semiconductor and vice president of European sales and marketing for Cypress Semiconductor.

Separately, Entropic on Wednesday announced that it filed to acquire Trident Microsystems' set-top box system-on-chip business for $55 million in cash in connection with Trident's Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing.

San Diego-based Entropic is a co-founder of the Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA), which promotes technology specifications for high-speed data networking over in-home coax.
