Glassberg to Head Ad Sales at TV Guide8/10/2004 5:29 AM Eastern
Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc. has named cable veteran Richy Glassberg senior vice president of advertising sales for the TV Guide Television Group.
Glassberg, who counts 20 years of TV ad-sales experience, joins TV Guide from Speed Channel, and he will begin reporting to Ian Aaron, president of the TV Guide Television Group, Sept. 7.
Stationed in New York, Glassberg will have responsibility for the TV Guide Television Group’s businesses, including TV Guide Channel and Gemstar-TV Guide’s interactive-program-guide businesses for both digital-cable and consumer-electronics products.
Bill Rosolie, the group’s current head of advertising sales, will remain with the company to work on special projects and new initiatives.
At Speed, Glassberg was responsible for all of the network’s ad-sales revenues encompassing multiplatform marketing partnerships that integrated cable, Internet, digital and program buys.
He entered the then-fledgling cable arena at MTV Networks and later worked at Turner Broadcasting System Inc. He was also the founder, chairman and CEO of Phase2Media, an Internet advertising and marketing organization.
