Poll: DSL Subs Want TV from Telcos

11/01/2004 5:09 AM Eastern

A total of 79% of subscribers to both cable TV and DSL would cancel their cable subscriptions if they could receive telephone, Internet and TV services from their telco, according to a new poll from 2Wire Inc.

And 55% of the 2,000 respondents would choose their telco over the cable operator as the single provider of these services, the poll found.

The broadband-service-platform provider’s research also found that 73% of respondents said the ability to save money with volume discounts is what would most drive them to switch to a single provider, and 91% would switch their traditional phone service to voice over Internet protocol if their telco was offering the service.
