SeaChange, TiVo Extend VOD Solution To Cisco-Based Cable Systems

SeaChange International and TiVo are extending their joint Cardio solution for delivering video-on-demand to TiVo's digital video recorders to cable systems running Cisco Systems' digital video platform.

According to the companies, Cardio is currently deployed with Suddenlink Communications and RCN. Charter Communications is among other MSOs in the U.S. that offer TiVo DVRs to customers.

Cardio comprises SeaChange's interactive consumer electronics gateway software, its legacy Axiom VOD or Adrenalin multiscreen video back-office systems to connect directly to TiVo's user interface and set-tops including the Premiere, Premiere Q and Preview models. The new version of Cardio now supports Cisco digital cable platforms in addition to Motorola platforms.

"Cardio improves upon a simple and hugely popular goal to give operators more choice in set-tops and subscriber experience while further leveraging their SeaChange video back office," SeaChange executive director of product management Anthony Landamia said.
