Siemens, Arris Gain CableLabs Certification

Siemens Information and Communication Networks Inc. and Arris Group Inc. said they each received Cable Television Laboratories Inc. certification in wave 28 for voice/data products.

Siemens said its “SURPASS hiQ 8000” soft switch received PacketCable 1.0 certification. Cablevision Systems Corp. has deployed the SURPASS hiQ 8000.

Arris said its “Cadant C3” cable-modem-termination system was qualified for DOCSIS 2.0 deployments. The vendor added that the Cadant 3 is designed for small to midsized operators.

In other technology news, nCUBE Corp. said it signed a deal with Digeo Inc. to integrate its “nABLE” interactive-management software and video-server technology with Diego’s “Moxi” software platform.

The companies said Adelphia Communications Corp. will test the integrated solution in Los Angeles this summer.
