TiVo Inc. has teamed up with TGC Inc. to bring its digital-video-recorder technology to the Taiwanese retail market.
TGC is TiVo’s exclusive partner in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Macao.
The vendor said cable penetration in Taiwan is above 80%.
“TGC's launch in Taiwan is yet another step in our mission to expand the TiVo experience to high-value, wired markets around the world,” TiVo CEO Tom Rogers said in a prepared statement.
TGC CEO Ta-Wei Chien added, “The TiVo experience has a very passionate, global following, and we have seen extensive demand for the TiVo technology throughout Asia.”
