Vyyo Names Ex-Wall Street Analyst to Board

Vyyo appointed former Morgan Stanley analyst Richard Bilotti to its 10-member board of directors, the cable-equipment vendor’s third new board member in six months.

Bilotti covered the cable and entertainment sectors for 13 years as an analyst with Morgan Stanley before retiring earlier this year. He replaces John P. Griffin, former CEO of wireless-networking vendor LightPointe Communications, who is leaving Vyyo’s board after seven-and-a-half years.

Vyyo last month appointed ex-Time Warner Cable chief technology officer Jim Chiddix vice chairman of its board, simultaneously hiring former Charter Communications CTO Wayne Davis as CEO. In November the Norcross, Ga.-based company tapped ex-Charter chief operating officer Maggie Bellville to sit on its board.

Bilotti, before joining Morgan Stanley in 1994, was a high-yield, fixed-income analyst specializing in cable TV at Grantchester Securities. He also worked at Prudential Bache Securities, L.F. Rothschild and Kidder, Peabody.

"Rich has earned the highest levels of respect within the cable community for his keen grasp of the technological, business and regulatory challenges and opportunities that are in front of the industry," Vyyo chairman Davidi Gilo said in announcing the appointment.
