WICT Rocky Mountain Sets 7th ‘Tech It Out’ Event

The Women in Cable Telecommunications Rocky Mountain Chapter announced its speaker slate for the organization’s 7th Annual Rocky Mountain Tech It Out Conference, set for November 13 at the Infinity Park Event Center in Glendale, Colo.

This year’s event will feature keynotes by Joan Gillman, EVP and COO, Time Warner Cable Media Services; Susan Sher, former chief of staff to Michelle Obama and First Female Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago; and Myrna Soto, chief security officer for Comcast.

Other speakers scheduled to appear include:

-Colleen Abdoulah, chairwoman, WOW! Internet & Cable;

-Cynthia Carpenter, VP/product management, Charter Communications;

-Sherita Ceasar, VP, EPS national video deployment engineering, Comcast, and 2014 WICT/SCTE Technology Woman of the Year;

-Marianne Cooper, author, sociologist and lead Researcher for Lean In: Work, Women and the Will to Lead, by Sheryl Sandberg;

-Leslie Ellis, president, Translation-Please.com, and Multichannel News contributor;

-Maria Popo, president, Ubee Interactive and president, WICT Rocky Mountain;

-Jodi Robinson, VP, Internet and interactive technologies, Starz;

-Rebecca Rusk, VP, interactive experience, Turner Broadcasting, UX Center of Excellence;

-Amy Tykeson, managing trustee, Tykeson Family Charitable Trust, and former president and CEO, Bend Broadband; and

-Joe Weber, CTO, operator business unit, TiVo.  

Panel discussions will cover “Career Seasons,” “Frenemies,” “Lean In – Or Lean Out?” among others.

WICTRM said the program will also include an expanded STEM/Student Outreach initiative, focused on educational communities in Colorado, Nebraska, and Utah, and that will award 35 high school and college students with Tech It Out scholarships.
