DirecTV Brings Shows From 30-Plus Networks Into TV Everywhere LineupNew Programming Partners Include A+E, Scripps, Showtime and Viacom 12/18/2012 8:45 AM Eastern
Giving the authenticated pay TV model another push forward, DirecTV has added on-demand titles from more than 30 networks to its TV Everywhere website and apps, through deals with media companies including A+E Networks, Scripps Networks Interactive, Showtime Networks, Smithsonian Channel and Viacom Media Networks.
The expanded content is available to DirecTV subscribers with corresponding video packages for no extra charge online at directv.com/everywhere as well as via the satellite operator’s apps for iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch and Android smartphones.
Recently added networks available through the DirecTV Everywhere service include: A&E, AXS TV, BET, Bio, CMT, Comedy Central, Cooking Channel, DIY Network, Food Network, HGTV, Lifetime, Logo, MTV, Nickelodeon, Nick at Night, Nick Jr., Shorts HD, Showtime, Sony Movie Channel, Spike TV Smithsonian Channel, Tr3s, Teen Nick, Travel Channel, TV Land and VH1.
Through its TV Everywhere services, DirecTV previously has offered TV shows and movies from HBO, Cinemax, Starz and Encore, as well as movies purchased through its DirecTV Cinema service.

In addition, DirecTV has expanded its live in-home streaming lineup to 61 channels. Last month, it added DIY and ION to its live in-home streaming service, which can now be accessed through the iPad and iPhone. Other networks include: Fox News, Discovery, CNN, Syfy, MSNBC, TLC, Tennis Channel, FX, CNBC, TNT, TBS, USA, Lifetime, Bravo, Hallmark Channel, HGTV, Food Network, NFL Network, A&E, The Weather Channel and AMC.
In the U.S., DirecTV is the second-largest pay TV provider (after Comcast) with 19.9 million customers.
