BeIN Sport Launches Authenticated Online Service On TWC, BHN

International sports service beIN Sport is launching a new streaming service, dubbed beIN Sport Play, for authenticated subscribers, kicking off on Friday, May 9, at noon EST on affiliates Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks.

The Al Jazeera Sports programmer said the online extension will stream content in high definition available "on any broadband-connected PC, mobile device or smart phone." The video player can be expanded to full-screen mode. Centerpiece programming on the service includes soccer matches from top leagues in Spain, France and Italy and the second-highest league in England, and beIN Sport said the streaming service will enable authenticated viewers to watch live overflow matches that are not shown on the television channels. The service will allow access to authenticated subscribers of both beIN SPORT and beIN SPORT en Español.

The programmer said beIN Sport Play is expected to launch on other multichannel video providers "in coming months."

The new service will enable "email notifications 30 minutes prior to kickoffs plus relevant news and information on their favorite teams and games," beIN Sport said in a release.

"Programming highlights for this weekend include Barcelona and PSG trying to clinch their respective league’s championship crown on Sunday. Barcelona has a tough matchup against third place Atletico Madrid, while PSG takes on Lyon.

"Round 4 of the 2013 FIM Superbike World Championship will speed off in Italy Sunday morning and the Giro d’Italia continues its 21-stage journey this weekend as well as much, much more."
