Dish Network’s lead executive for online video and TV Everywhere, Bruce Eisen, is leaving the company effective Friday, Nov. 9.
Eisen, Dish’s vice president of online content development and strategy, said in an email that he is leaving the company to resume his consulting business, Digital Advisors.
“To continue to advance within the company I would have had to move to Denver and, for a variety of reasons, that just wasn't possible,” Eisen wrote in an email to Multichannel News. He added that he is working on a startup venture but declined to provide details.
Josh Clark, Dish’s vice president of digital programming, will be assuming Eisen’s responsibilities, according to Eisen.
Among his projects at Dish, Eisen led the launch of DishOnline.com in 2010 and struck TV Everywhere authentication deals with multiple programming partners.
Dish representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Eisen, who is based in Los Angeles, joined Dish in 2009. Before he formed Digital Advisors in 2007, he was a co-founder and executive vice president of CinemaNow, the Internet video-streaming movie portal that is now part of Rovi and licensed to Best Buy. Prior to that, he worked for production company Trimark Pictures.
