• Q&A: Telemudo’s Peter Blacker
  Peter Blacker, Telemundo executive VP of digital media and emerging business, is the primary architect behind the company’s overall digital strategy. He is also behind Telemundo’s new partnership with MSN, announced this week and aimed at creating a revamped, bilingual destination at www.telemundo.com. The new site effectively puts an end to Telemundo’s three-year partnership with Yahoo. Hispanic TV Update spoke to Blacker about the upcoming launch. more » » »

LatiNation, LLC, the holding company for American Latino (ALTV) and LatiNation syndicated shows, has tapped Jeff Stern as director of distribution, where he will be charged with leading ALTV’s syndication distribution arm as well as assist with parent company LATV’s multicast distribution strategy. Prior to joining LatiNation, Stern served as regional account executive at the San Antonio CBS affiliate KENS-TV and has held sales positions at several broadcast affiliates nationwide. He will be based in San Antonio and will report to vp of business development David Morales.

¿Quién tiene la razón? the Venevision-produced show hosted by family psychologist Nancy Álvarez, this week (Nov. 17) premiered on the Univision network, after a six-year run on sister network TeleFutura. Based in Miami, the talk-show program now will air daily at 10:00 am (ET).

Niurka Marcos, the Cuba-born actress, has signed up a contract with Televisión Azteca to host her own show, El show de Niurka, which will air on primetime Monday through Friday starting January 2009. The new show will also be available in the U.S. on the Azteca América network.
