AT&T, Comcast Trade Jabs In Chicago
In the latest cable-telco legal dustup, Comcast this week alleged that AT&T’s U-verse services have caused severe interference over its coaxial cable network in the Chicago area -- while the telephone company is seeking to block the cabler’s ads that poke fun at the large outdoor boxes used to deliver U-verse TV.

Verizon To Cut Off FiOS TV Analog In Massachusetts
Verizon will eliminate analog versions of local broadcast channels for FiOS TV customers in Massachusetts on May 12, continuing its transition to all-digital operation as part of an agreement with the Federal Communications Commission.

U-verse Grows In Cheesehead State
AT&T turned up the IPTV marketing heat in southeastern Wisconsin, announcing Wednesday that U-verse TV and Internet services are now available to more than 200,000 living units in and around the Milwaukee, Racine and Sheboygan areas.

• AT&T expanded availability of U-verse TV and Internet in parts of local Atlanta communities.
• BlueHighways TV announced a carriage agreement with Verizon to make BlueHighways TV's linear service available to FiOS TV subscribers later this year. BHTV's video-on-demand service has been offered to FiOS TV customers since December 2007.
• Verizon was granted a video franchise from 3,000-household town of Hingham, Mass., on April 22.
• Pirelli Broadband Solutions is using Sigma Designs' SMP8634 media processor to power its line of IPTV set-top boxes, which are currently being deployed by two European operators.
• L’Energie de Sion-Région SA (ESR), a utility company in the Sion region of Switzerland, selected Latens Systems' conditional-access system to protect its new DVB-C cable system.
• AT&T rolled out its suite of interactive TV features to U-verse TV customers in San Antonio.
